The selvage includes a historical photograph of soldiers with dogs on the front. It also pictures memorial poppies and a message which reads "Horses, donkeys, dogs, and pigeons were often used for labor and carrying messages to and from infantrymen in the trenches. Some animals were adopted as mascots for a military unit."
