In February 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine and began a war. Ukraine’s postal administration, Ukrposhta, has issued many stamps in support of the war effort and to honor those who are fighting for their nation’s freedom. This set of seven mint sheets were issued in 2023 as part of that effort.

Warriors of Light, Warriors of Good - This sheet pays tribute to the people who work tirelessly to repair Ukraine's infrastructure after it's been damaged or destroyed by Russian attacks. The blue background and yellow lights represent the colors of the Ukrainian flag. The selvage includes an image of a map of Ukraine with silhouettes of aircraft flying overhead. "Warriors of Light" commemorates the bravery of all those working to keep the lights on in Ukraine. 

Banksy at War - This stamp design was issued on the one-year anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. It shows a mural created by famous British artist Banksy during the early part of the war. The mural pictures Putin being flipped by a young boy during a Judo match. The official stamp name "FCK PTN" insults Putin and inspires the Ukrainian people to keep fighting. 

Cities of Heroes - This sheet of three stamps was issued in honor of the "Hero Cities" of Irpin, Bucha, and Hostomel, which stood against some of the first attacks by Russia.  According to Ukrposhta, they "boldly oppos[ed] the enemy and defend[ed] the capital of our country."  Stamps picture black and white photographs of scenes from the various cities before and after Russian destruction. 

Glory to the Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine! Offensive Guard - In February 2023, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine formed volunteer assault brigades called the “Offensive Guard” within the National Guard, National Police, and State Border Service. The purpose of the Offensive Guard is to liberate the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Although mostly consisting of active-duty policemen and military personnel, citizen volunteers were encouraged to join their ranks.
Continuing the series “Glory to the Armed Forces of Ukraine!” issued by Ukraine in 2022. This postal set features postage stamps portraying members from the National Guard, State Border Guard Service, and National Police of Ukraine. These stamps are a tribute to the defenders of Ukraine and honor those who sacrificed their lives in defense of Ukrainian independence.

Fighters of Evil: F-16 Jets 'Rubbing Out' Kremlin - The “Fighters of Evil” stamp design pictures the silhouettes of American F-16 fighter jets on a grater with Russia's Kremlin being shredded to pieces by the jets.  The stamp was intended as a plea to the United States to send F-16s to Ukraine to potentially help turn the tide of the war in Ukraine's favor.  The design was created by Maksym Palenko and reflects the worldwide effects of the war between Russia and Ukraine. 

Tribute to Ukraine Security Services - According to Ukraine's postal service, this stamp is “dedicated to the defenders of Ukraine, who are defending the sacred Ukrainian land, and to those who gave their lives defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country.”  The stamp design was created by Ukrainian artist Oleksandr Okhapkin and gives a face to those fighting for their homeland.  It's also a way to inspire people from other nations around the world to help support Ukraine in whatever way they can.

Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense - According to Ukraine's postal service, this stamp is dedicated to the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.  It is especially intended for the special units "Kraken," "Shaman," and the International Legion "which gave a worthy rebuff to the Moscow invaders" at the beginning of the war.  The stamp design was also created by Ukrainian artist Oleksandr Okhapkin.
