Ukraine Stamp Honors 4th Operational Brigade
On May 23, 2025, Ukrposhta, Ukraine’s Postal Service issued a stamp featuring the 4th Operational Brigade, nicknamed Rubizh, after Serhiy Mykhalchuk, who died in combat in December 2019. The brigade was Ukraine’s first National Guard unit to be trained by foreign military advisors according to NATO standards. In May 2025, the Rubizh Brigade celebrated its 10th anniversary.
When Russia attempted to capture Kyiv in February 2022, 4th Brigade prevented the airport from falling into enemy hands. This kept the Russians from airlifting supplies and reinforcements to the capital city. After the Russians retreated from Kyiv, the brigade was sent to eastern Ukraine to continue to resist the enemy.
