$395.00

Choose Option:

Own U.S. #89 – 1868 10¢ Washington "E" Grill – on One-of-a-Kind Cover

This historical cover was sent from Cottonville, Iowa all the way to Oldenburg, Germany.  Includes light black Cottonville circular datestamp and red "BREMEN FRANCO" markings.  This stamp paid the direct North Germany Union rate.

The stamp was previously lifted from the cover to inspect the "E" grill and later hinged back onto the cover.  Neat usage covering the North Germany Union rate.  A true piece of history you'll love having in your collection.  But act quickly – only ONE available!

Oldenburg was a small, independent state located in what is now northwestern Germany.  After World War I, it became a free state within the Weimar Republic and eventually, it was merged into modern Lower Saxony after World War II.

Grilled stamps are scarce, sought-after, and generally quite expensive.  In fact, the most valuable US stamps are grilled stamps.  They’re beautiful and fragile pieces of history.

Owning Old Stamps on Covers Is a Lot of Fun – And Saves You Money!

Getting grilled stamps on covers is a fun, interesting, and affordable option.  Plus, its fun to let your imagination run wild thinking about what message could have been carried in this cover.  Who knows who handled it!  Plus, it captures the delicate handwriting and stamps from over 150 years ago!  It’s no wonder why these covers are so sought-after.
