Own Limited-Edition Atlantis STS-115 Silk Cover with Official Medal

Produced by Colorano, this cover honors Space Shuttle Atlantis’s 27th mission, STS-115.  It features the launch of the space shuttle, along with an official mission medal.

Popular Colorano covers feature “silk” cachets that are produced through a special screening process and then bonded to the envelope.  The cachet pictures the launch of STS-115 surrounded by a golden border.  The cover bears a patriotic US stamp and cancellation marking the launch date.

The bronze medal features the mission patch.  This was designed by students at York University in Toronto, Canada, where Steve MacLean, one of the astronauts had attended.  The image shows Atlantis approaching the International Space Station.  Below the space shuttle are solar arrays, which were delivered to the International Space Station.  The crew members’ names are shown along the border.

STS-115 was the first assembly mission to the International Space Station after the Columbia disaster.  It was launched on September 9, 2006, and returned to Earth on September 21.  It carried a truss segment for the International Space Station along with solar arrays and batteries.

This cover would make a neat addition to your collection.  Order yours now.
