Launched on March 22, 1996, STS-76 was the 16th mission of Atlantis.  This was the third mission to dock with the Mir, the Russian Space Station.  Astronaut Shannon Lucid was transported to the station to become the first American woman to live there.  STS-76 was completed on March 31, when Atlantis landed at Edwards Air Force Base.
