Produced by Colorano, this cover honors the Space Shuttle Columbia’s 21st mission, STS-80 (the 80th mission of the Space Shuttle program).  It includes an Official Space Medallion enclosed in the cover.


This Colorano cover features a “silk” cachet that are produced through a special screening process and then bonded to the envelope. The cachet pictures a photo of the launch and mission patch surrounded by a golden border.  The cover bears a patriotic US stamp and Kennedy Space Center cancellation postmarked on the date of the launch.

Launched on November 19, 1996, STS-80 was the longest Shuttle mission in history, lasting over 17 days.  During the flight, two satellites were deployed then retrieved after completing their tasks.  Astronaut Story Musgrave became the only person to fly on all five Space Shuttle.  After a two -day delay because of weather, the mission came to an end on December 7.
