The United Nations continues to make great strides in furthering the cause of human rights. Another World Conference on Human Rights took place in June, 1993, in Vienna, Austria. This is the fourth set in the five-year Human Rights Series.

Vienna’s s6 stamp features Article twenty-three. The artwork is “Les Constructeurs” (“The Buildiers”) by Fernand Leger, France, and provided by the Musee Leger. The General Assembly Hall at the U.N. has two murals by Leger which were anonymously donated. The s10 stamp has Article Twenty-four and depicts “Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte,” by Georges Seurat, France. The painting is from the Helen Birch Bartlers Collection, Art Institute of Chicago.
