The 2014 U.N. definitive stamps, designed by Sergio Baradat, capture the abstract architectural details of some of the main U.N. office buildings and various icons associated with the United Nations.
Buildings of the International Center in Austria are shown on the two Vienna issues. Built in the 1970s just north of the Danube River, the building complex comprises six unique “Y-shaped” buildings around a central cylindrical conference building. The €1.70 stamp shows a stylized landscape view of the complex in which the artist used abstract design to showcase the buildings’ unique structures.
