2025 5,00 International Day of Peace

In September 2025, the United Nations Postal Administration, working with the Universal Postal Union and ten other postal administrations, will issue a remarkable new stamp honoring the International Day of Peace. Titled “Dove of Peace,” this special issue celebrates the enduring value of peace and the shared hope for a more unified world.

The Dove of Peace stamp features a beautifully embroidered white dove, wings outstretched, carrying an olive branch outlined in blue. The design speaks a universal language, free of borders, politics, or ideology. Like real doves in flight, this stamp project transcends geography, serving as a small but meaningful ambassador for peace as it travels from one corner of the world to another.

This limited-edition stamp is crafted from textiles and was embroidered and produced by the Austrian firm Hämmerle & Vogel, whose skilled workmanship brings depth and texture to the design. Though simple in appearance, the stamp reflects careful craftsmanship and thoughtful artistry—combining traditional embroidery with a message that feels especially timely.
