On December 10, 1948, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted and proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Following this historic act, the Assembly called upon all member countries to publicize the text of the Declaration. Since 1948, Human Rights Day has been commemorated every year on December 10th. On this 40th anniversary, the text of the preamble of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights has been presented in full on three souvenir sheets.  Each sheet is printed in the language used at the offices it represents.
