2007-11 Regular Issues, Set of 137 Stamps

This set of 137 different stamps spans the U.S. regular issues from 2007 through 2011.  It includes some of most varied and visually diverse definitive U.S. stamps in decades.

It includes Harriet Beecher Stowe, James Michener, and Senator Margaret Chase Smith among the portraits; the Statue of Liberty, Liberty Bell, and American flag among the national symbols; Navajo jewelry, a Tiffany lamp, and a silver coffeepot among the American design series; bighorn sheep, dolphins, and a mountain lion among the wildlife subjects; and flax, iris, and other botanicals rounding out this set. The Forever stamp made its debut during this period, with the first Forever stamp issued in April 2007, and several Forever issues are represented in this set.

The 2007-11 period also saw the USPS experimenting with new printing methods, paper types, and coil configurations, producing a number of varieties that specialists track carefully. Stamps from this era appear in sheet, booklet, coil, and self-adhesive formats, and differences in tagging, paper, and die cuts create additional catalog varieties beyond what the casual collector might expect.
