Own the “Prexies” – Popular Series Honors First 29 Presidents
The 1938 Presidential Series – affectionately nicknamed the “Prexies” by collectors – was very popular at the time of its issue and remains so today. Franklin Roosevelt, the stamp-collecting President, personally approved every stamp. Every U.S. President deceased when the series was created is honored. America’s first 29 Presidents are featured on stamps with denominations corresponding to the numerical order of their term of office. In addition to the Presidents, Benjamin Franklin, Martha Washington and the White House are commemorated.
Most of the 32 stamps were printed using the Rotary Press and feature bi-color images, with the exception of the last three (#832-34), which were printed using the Flat Plate Press. These high-value stamps are the most sought-after of the series, but you can get them all with one convenient, money-saving order.
The historic Prexies will be the cornerstone of your 20th-Century U.S. collection. Make them yours.
